Entry for German Nationals  
Travellers must hold a visa; on application, a national passport valid for at least a further six months must be submitted (among other documents). The visa application will take one week (three weeks in the case of tourists).

The Republic of Gabon is bounded by Cameroon to the north, Equatorial Guinea to the northwest, Congo to the east and south, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west.
75% of Gabon's total area consist of rain forests, 15% are covered by humid savannas.

The international dialling code for calls from Western Europe to Gabon is 00241; the telephone number must be dialled immediately after this code. In the case of calls from Gabon to Western Europe the prefix "00" must be dialled prior to the relevant international country code (for example in the case of calls to Germany: 00-49).

Information for users of mobile phones registered with German network providers: Mobile phones connected to the E-Plus or O2 networks can be used due to international roaming agreements. Clothes  
Light, airy and easily washable summer clothes are appropriate throughout the year; during the dry season, however, light woollen clothes should also be taken for the sometimes rather chilly evenings. A raincoat or other rainwear is required throughout the year.
